Although primarily used as a film term high-angle shot refers to a camera angle that is shot from above. It tends to make the subject smaller as if the participant is above, bigger, or stronger than that subject. The opposite is a low-angle shot. The visual arts uses vantage point to describe the idea that presents the subject from straight on, above or below.
