In art there are two references to prints. One is a reproduction of a work of art. However, the one that pertains to this class is a work that is created through a print process. The result of these are not reproductions but originals. The artist determines how many prints will be created and then cancels the block, plate, or other object that created the print so that no more originals can be made. Each of these prints is considered an original. Prints are more often identified with the various techniques that are used to create the final product and include: relief prints, intaglio prints, serigraphs and lithographs. There are many others, but these are the basic one that are discussed within this introduction.
