Romanticism is a general style that is found in more dramatic works of art. The opposite of Romanticism is Classicism.
Although some periods within the history of art are dominated by Romanticism, Romantic ideals can be found in every work of art to some extent. But, usually, either Romanticism or Classicism is dominant within any given work.
