Criticism is the process of analyzing a work of art to see how it compares with other works of art that are similar. The goal of criticism is analysis and not judgement. Certainly judgement can and will occur, but that is not the primary goal. While most critics try to remain objective a certain amount of subjectivity based on previous experience will occur during the analysis.
