Point of view is a term used by filmmakers to describe vantage point. This is the place that the filmmaker places the participant when viewing a film. In the early days of film the point of view was much the same as if the participant was watching a play. Once the filmmaker realized that the camera position could be changed films became much more dynamic. In a typical conversation the opening shot may show Judy and John together. The next shot may just show Judy, the next just John, and so on. In each, the point of view has been changed. The two most basic points of view are subjective point of view and objective point of view. Other points of view can be created with camera anlges such as a low-angle shot and a high-angle shot.
